Tour Summary
Duration: 13 Nights / 14 Days
Wildlife, Culture & Coastal Calm is a balanced Sri Lanka tour that places safari experiences at the centre while incorporating heritage, hill country and beach relaxation. Track wildlife in Wilpattu, observe elephants near Minneriya and search for leopards in Yala. Between safaris, explore Anuradhapura, Sigiriya, Dambulla and Kandy before travelling by scenic train through Nuwara Eliya and Ella. Galle Fort, turtle conservation and Bentota’s beach provide a relaxed conclusion. This itinerary suits travellers who want meaningful wildlife encounters without committing to a purely safari-based holiday, making it particularly appealing to couples, families and first-time visitors.
A Glimpse of Your Journey
Itinerary
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to Negombo. Relax after the flight and prepare for your wildlife and cultural journey.
Travel to Wilpattu and explore Sri Lanka’s largest national park through guided safari drives. The park’s quieter atmosphere and natural lakes provide excellent conditions for patient wildlife observation.
Visit the ancient capital of Anuradhapura and explore its stupas, monasteries and sacred sites. Learn how the city’s irrigation systems supported one of South Asia’s great early civilisations.
Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress during the cooler part of the day. Later, join a safari in Minneriya or a nearby reserve to observe wild elephants and other dry-zone wildlife.
Explore the painted caves and Buddhist statues of Dambulla before travelling to Kandy. Visit the Temple of the Tooth and experience the city’s spiritual atmosphere.
Travel into the misty highlands and visit a working tea estate. On the following day, trek through Horton Plains to World’s End and Baker’s Falls.
Take the scenic train to Ella and enjoy the mountain landscape. Hike Mini Adam’s Peak, visit Nine Arches Bridge and spend time exploring the town.
Descend to Yala and join an evening safari in one of Sri Lanka’s most famous wildlife regions. Look for elephants, leopards, crocodiles, deer and birdlife.
Explore Galle Fort and its historic ramparts before visiting the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project. Continue to Bentota for coastal relaxation.
Enjoy your final full day beside the beach or choose an optional water-based activity. On the last day, transfer privately to the airport for departure.
