The Ramayana Trail is a seven-day spiritual and cultural journey linking sites traditionally associated with the Ramayana across Sri Lanka. Beginning at Munneswaram and Manavari, the route continues through Kandy, Ramboda, Nuwara Eliya, Kataragama, Rumassala, Colombo and Kelaniya. Temples, sacred landscapes and stories connected with Rama, Sita, Hanuman and Vibhishana are explored alongside Sri Lanka’s natural scenery and religious diversity. Time in Bentota provides an opportunity for rest and reflection. The tour is suitable for Hindu pilgrims, families, religious groups and cultural travellers seeking a meaningful introduction to Sri Lanka’s Ramayana traditions.

Itinerary
Arrive in Sri Lanka and travel toward Chilaw to visit Munneswaram and Manavari Temples. Continue into the hills to Kandy for your first overnight stay.
Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic before travelling through tea country. Stop at Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple in Ramboda and continue to Nuwara Eliya.
Visit Sita Amman Temple and Divurumpola, both connected with important Ramayana traditions. Stop at Ravana Falls before descending to the sacred city of Kataragama.
Attend or observe morning religious rituals in Kataragama before travelling along the southern coast. Visit Rumassala Hill, traditionally associated with Hanuman, and continue to Bentota.
Spend a quieter day resting by the coast and reflecting on the pilgrimage. An optional boat safari through the Madu River’s mangrove environment can be arranged.
Travel to Colombo and visit Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple. Explore selected city landmarks and allow time for shopping or a farewell meal.
Visit Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya, associated in tradition with Vibhishana. Continue to Bandaranaike International Airport for departure.
